Hey everybody. Dr. Roger Saias here, your chiropractor for car accidents in Philadelphia, PA. Today I’m here with Dr. Joel Kerak, one of our staff doctors. Today I wanna talk to you about a very common question that we get, and we hear from time to time, is whether or not you should go to the medical doctor or you should see a chiropractor, or a therapist.
And so we’ve talked in previous videos when you go to the medical doctor, they’re only interested if you have broken bones, if you have anything torn like ligaments, muscles, or tendons, that’s really all they care about.
And at the end of the day, if you don’t have any of those things, they’re gonna send you home. They may send you home with an ice pack, they’re probably gonna send you home with a prescription for a muscle relaxer or something that is very passive, that only controls the symptoms.

And I’ve said on other videos there’s nothing wrong with controlling symptoms and sometimes you need that type of care. But beyond that, if you’re not doing anything physical to rehabilitate the spine and the soft tissue, you’re gonna end up with chronic problems.
So at PA Pain and Rehab, not only do we offer chiropractic, and chiropractic is essential to the healing process after a car accident especially, a whiplash type of injury so we can get movement back into the joints with a chiropractic adjustment, so we could get the muscles, tendons and ligands moving as well.
And then in our offices, we also incorporate different types of therapy. We do physical rehabilitation that includes therapeutic exercise and a lot of different types of stretching and mobility techniques. So Dr. Joel will often teach patients if they’ve had not only a whiplash injury, but different types of low back injuries.
Symptoms After a Car Accident in Philadelphia, PA
You can have almost any type of symptom after a motor vehicle accident, including neck pain, low back pain. So when you go to a medical doctor, you’re not getting any physical support, you’re not getting anything that’s going to rehabilitate the soft tissue and get the joints moving, so that you can control inflammation, so that you can control the pain naturally.
So again, this is just one technique. We also do other techniques when patients have a cervical injury from a car accident. Dr. Joel is showing us how to reincorporate neck range of motion exercises with resistance.
We have a lot of different techniques that we utilize to help rehabilitate the spine. Again, something that you’re not gonna get in a medical office, where their only solution to your problem to control the pain is medication.

So again, if you’ve gone that route and you’re still not experiencing the quality of life that you should be after the accident, if you still don’t feel as good as you think you should and you’ve only been given medications, give our office a call, drop us a comment on the video, send us an email.
We would love to have a conversation with you to see if we can help you. Again, my name is Dr. Roger Saias from PA Pain and Rehab.
I hope you enjoyed this video and we’ll see you on the next one.
